Illness or Injury Policy:

  1. Illness:
    1. A) A center shall not admit or retain in care, except with the written approval of the local health officer, a child who:
      . Is diagnosed as having or being a carrier of a childcare restrict-able disease, as defined in Health Division Administrative Rules, OAR 33-019-0010; or,
      • Has one of the following symptoms, or combination of symptoms, or illness:
      (i) Fever over 100 degrees F taken under arm;
      (il) Diarrhea (more than one abnormally loose, runny, watery, or bloody stool:
      (iii) Vomiting;
      (iv) Nausea;
      (v) Severe cough;
      (vi) Unusual yellow color to skin or eyes;
      (vii) Skin or eye lesions or rashes that are severe, weeping, or pus-filled;
      (viii Stiff neck and headaches with one or more symptoms above;
      (ix) Difficulty breathing or abnormal wheezing; or
      (x) Complaints of severe neck pain.
  2. A child who shows signs of illness, as defined in this rule, shall be isolated and the parents) notified and asked to remove the child from the center as soon as possible;
  3. If a child has mild cold symptoms that do not impair his/her functioning, the child may remain in the center and the parents) notified when they pick up their child;

Please do not bring your child to childcare if he/she has green/yellow snot running from their nose. This is an indication of illness. It is a requirement from the state to keep ill children at home.
