At Lil’ Sunshine, we believe in nurturing

Our goal is to determine through careful observation each child's interests and learning style. From these observations we aim to provide an environment that promotes children's natural curiosity and gives them guidance and freedom to construct their knowledge, intelligence and personality in ways most meaningful to them.

Lil' Sunshine Childcare is an American Sign Language (ASL) daycare and a one-of-a-kind experience here in Bend. We teach the children ASL and also speak Spanish with them daily offering children the opportunity to learn to communicate and express themselves at a very early age.

Our Philosophy - Increase your baby's activity

Placing baby on the floor is the best way for baby to move around and get some exercise. Babies love to play, move and wiggle around. Being on the floor, in a safe environment, allows babies to stretch, reach and kick, which helps strengthen their muscles and increase their physical activity.

Hi!! My name is Tracy Howard, founder of Lil' Sunshine 🌞 Childcare! I have been in this childcare center for 37 years. We have a 24 yr old son. I love ❤️ children! I love to travel, camping, quilting, church and our cats!

Carolyn Graham

I was born in Oahu, Hawaii, My husband Ted and I later moved to Portland, Oregon. We have been happily married for 34 years and have three daughters and five grandchildren, with whom we love to spend time.

I have lived in La Pine, Oregon, for the past 23 years, and we enjoy fishing together as a family. I met Tracy a long time ago in Portland, and we became roommates. She started a childcare business, and I joined her. I have dedicated the last 20 years to working with children, and I love teaching them sign language as a means of enhancing their communication and understanding. Making them giggle is one of my greatest joys!

Lil' Sunshine Tuition

Tuition rates will be provided at tours.

Lil' Sunshine uses DHS subsidy rates,
if they change their rates, we follow their rates.

There is a 4% annual increase for each child on Jan 1 st.
